With a huge entry from Camberley Judo Club it seemed like the Surrey Heath team was Camberley Judo Club this year! 24 fighters took part and 23 won medals (the 1 player without a medal had to withdraw due to concussion!). Here are some SYG facts to show the progress over the last few years:
- In 2010 Surrey Heath’s best result was 3rd in the Senior girls category out of 11 teams
- In 2013 Surrey Heath came 1st in Junior Boys, 1st in Senior Girls, 2nd in Senior Boys, and 2nd in Junior Girls
- Tom Kirk won the trophy for the most Ippon throws of the competition.
- Surrey Heath won 3 out of the 6 trophies available!
Coach Natalie Hall was most impressed with the range of different Judo techniques the children were winning with in newaza and tachiwaza. The level of fighting was amazing and there should be plenty of lovely throws to put towards our end of year highlights video too! Well done everyone. Results are as follows:
